Two Ways to Clean a Glassware Tool in a Laboratory

Glassware is one part of the equipos de laboratorio. The process of cleaning a glass appliance in a laboratory depends on what activities this tool does before cleaning and what type of material is contained in it. One of the materials commonly used in making laboratory glassware is borosilicate. Borosilicate glassware has a perfect defense from most acids except Hydrochloric Acid. A strong base solution will affect the glass, this is why dissolved detergents should not exceed 2%. Avoiding reactions to detergents over a long period of time and avoiding the same drying of the glassware should be cleaned as soon as possible to prevent hardening of the residue.

Glassware cleaning can be done in 2 ways, namely using a washing machine and manual:

– Cleaning with a washing machine
Choose from many kinds of detergent mixtures offered by laboratory specialists for Washing Machines, the detergent chosen must match the type of dirt to be removed. Some types of mixtures are indeed devoted to various kinds of dirt in the laboratory, so make sure you choose the right mixture to clean your glassware.

– Manual Cleaning
This method is a simple method because this method only uses soft foam, soft cloth or plastic brush that is soft and does not contain hard feathers. Choose from a variety of detergent mixtures offered by laboratory specialists for manual washing, depending on the residue you want to remove. Then clean it using the tool slowly and thoroughly.

Then in addition to cleaning with a washing machine and manually there is still a special cleaning method, where this method is used if there are certain stains that are very difficult to clean using detergents, so in this case, special attention and action need to be given. Some stains require slightly different behavior and handling. After knowing how to clean glassware, that’s why we have to use it very carefully.
